Communication

When explaining something, start with the point. Then explain. It's quicker and clearer.

We should listen twice as much as we speak. That's why we have 2 ears and one mouth.

"I asked you what time it was, not how to build a clock."

"I never say anything unless I'm sure it's not better left unsaid."

"[Wise] speak when they have something to say, fools speak when they have to say something."

Listen, hear, don't just wait to speak.

"Brevity is the soul of wit."

Cut out words that don't add value.

Cut the fluff. Ex: I took a long walk all the way down the street to the store. vs. I took a long walk to the store.

Communication engages 2 or more people. Each effects the other, it's a dynamic interplay.

You get more flies with honey than with vinegar.

Communication is about 5% what you say, 95% tone and body language.

The irony of intelligence. The more intelligent you try to sound, the less you do. The less intelligent you try to sound, the more you do.
